The Barna Group has released this chart ranking 100 American cities from “most Biblical minded” to “least Biblical minded.”

The social, economic and political values of any given city compose a richly distinct cultural climate—but what about the spiritual values? How does one city differ in spiritual profile to the next?

Barna Group’s latest Barna:Cities study, conducted annually in partnership with the American Bible Society, examines a combination of regular Bible reading with belief in the Bible’s accuracy across the top 100 metropolitan areas in the United States. The result reveals a geographical portrait of the most and least Bible-minded U.S. cities. Yet even in one year, the spiritual climate has notably shifted, as evident by comparing to last year’s study.

While the majority of this year’s list isn’t surprising at all, there are a couple things that stand out to me. What is the dominating factor for Cedar Rapids/Waterloo, Iowa being ranked so low on the list? At #96, it’s the only Midwest city ranked in the bottom ten. Also, is Salt Lake City low on the list because their religious residents read the Book of Mormon?

And Tennessee… are we really that Bible minded here? Chattanooga is #1 this year, Knoxville was ranked #1 last year.

Anything about this year’s list that surprises you?

Viagra is for the treatment of inability to get or keep an erection and similar states when erection is of low quality. When you buy remedies like cialis from canada you should know about cialis online canada. It may have a lot of brands, but only one ATC Code. Erectile dysfunction, defined as the persistent impossibility to maintain a satisfactory erection, affects an estimated 15 to 30 millions men in the America alone. Sexual heartiness is an substantial part of a man’s life, no matter his age etc.

    Hey we can comment again!
What does Bible minded mean? Bible minded does not always mean Christ like. I’ve known a lot of people who can quote word for word Scriptures but not love their neighbor or be forgiving.

I suspect that all those pesky artists knock Cedar Rapids down .Utah doesn’t surprise me. Barna’s criteria is evangelical, and obviously Mormons and Evangelicals don’t see eye to eye. IMHO Barna is great resource for a lot of issues, but it’s definition of “Bible-minded” is  very rigid. That helps when you’re trying to track how many evangelicals actually buy into all the tenets of evangelicalism, but it’s problematic when you’re trying to survey a populace that might be equally Bible-minded through the lens of their own denomination.
