Ex-Gay Group Debuts New Theme Song ‘Rise Up’…

By October 3, 2013October 14th, 2013Blog

It’s been a tough year for the ex-gays.

First, organizers were forced to cancel their “Ex-Gay Pride Month,” an event they hoped would highlight “discrimination and marginalization” experienced by ex-gays.

Then almost nobody showed up for “ex-gay lobby day” in Washington, when an anticipated thousands of participants were expected to rally in the nation’s capital. The same thing happened just yesterday, when only 15 people showed up to a second “ex-gay lobby day” event, despite claims that “there are more ex-gay people in the world than there are gay people in the world.”

The event was followed by an exclusive “First Annual Ex-Gay Awareness Dinner and Reception,” where PFOX organizers debuted the new theme song contest winner for the ex-gay movement, titled “Rise Up” by Dennis Jernigan.

Have a listen for yourself above — what do you think about this dramatic new theme for the ex-gay movement?
