I think it’s so awesome you’re getting baptized yet again. While I do believe in one baptism for the forgiveness of sins, I’ve thought a lot about going through a recommitment baptism myself. Blessings to you!

  • It looks beautiful 🙂

Saw this on twitter and was so happy for ya!! Very cool! I was baptized as a baby but desperately want the experience as an adult……considering I “get it” now.

What an amazing day for you!
I found your blog through the Bring The Rain blog, and just wanted to tell you I read your article in this month’s Homelife and I loved it.

And there’s much rejoicing in heaven! Very cool. The Bible does say that baptism is a “pledge of a good conscience toward God” (1Pt 3:21) so if you feel your heart wasn’t right, it doesn’t diminish the grace of God by doing it for the right reasons. I was baptized as an infant and grew up very religious, but made the choice to be baptized as an adult almost exactly nine years ago. I’ll pray for you (and get around to your book- which is why I’m here!).

After reading Churched and knowing how much “ick” Fundamentalism can leave us with, I truly hope that you’ve found the peace that Jesus grace offers (and I hope I find it as well).

I am so glad you’ve found a Christian family where you can be (or, maybe like myself, learn to be?) real.

  • I think this is awesome on a few fronts.

1st being, alot of people know who you are. In our ministry, our more known Christians rarely rededicate publically, because people will call them less “holy”, which is ridiculous. but for you to do it speaks volumes.

Also its good to come to Christ in repentance. I myself, thought the other day about if i have ever really “truly” repented of my sings before Jesus came into my life, so i did it.

Thirdly, you got a good friend to do it. I think it means a ton to be baptized by a loved one. Its the most spiritual thing we can do as Christians as far as i know, and i find it great to share with a lvoed one.

While, yes, i do agree that multiple baptisms is unbiblical, as far as using it for the “fotgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit” part, i do think it is an act where we take part in the burial and resurrection of Jesus, and that, is never bad.

    Good for you man.
