a lot changes in five years

By December 17, 2008Blog

I got my driver’s license renewed this morning. Usually the DMV is like a foreshadowing of hell. But not this morning.

When I took my picture the lady said, “You smiled in your last picture, so I want you to smile again.”
So I did. Sort of.
A lot changes in five years, huh?
I got married
I became a father
I lost my job at CCM
I wrote 16 books (4 were co-written)
I lost a lot of hair
I gained 40 pounds and then lost 50
Those are just some of the highlights. And apparently Tennessee’s DMV has changed. Maybe they found Jesus. Or Buddha. Or perhaps they’re kindness was just because I was the first one in line that had all of the necessary documentation.
Or maybe I’ve changed.
What’s changed for you in the last five years?

Viagra is for the treatment of inability to get or keep an hard-on and similar states when erection is of low quality. When you buy remedies like cialis from canada you should know about cialis online canada. It may have a lot of brands, but only one ATC Code. Erectile dysfunction, defined as the persistent impossibility to maintain a satisfactory erection, affects an estimated 15 to 30 millions men in the America alone. Sexual health is an substantial part of a man’s life, no question his age etc.

Yeah, we won’t go into my life changes. But I will say this:

I don’t think you’ve lost that much hair. It just moved lower on your face.

    🙂

  • I think your skin looks much better and the “loss” of hair shows it off better 🙂

    In 5 years I:

    2) Trained to be a Nurse & Midwife.

    five years.. oh boy…
    1) I began to show the physicl effecs of MS and it has rocked my world.. I had the disease before, but was relatively “normal” – the last 5 years have been full of physical deterioration

    2) I found my church home that I believe God meant me to reside in until it’s time to go home with Him.. amazing people filled with his love and a craving to know him better every day

    3) I gained 4 more heart-babies through finding this church.. an amazing source of JOY and abandon in my life

    4) I have lost several important people in my life during this time

    5) I have found a couple of really important people from my past again recently – thank you Jesus for this gift..

bonus round — I have become completely cemented in my faith and a whole lot less worried about what the world thinks of me.. perhaps the most important transformation of all

    -was healed from self harm

Matthew – I had a similar experience in October at DMV — the one in Franklin, off Carothers. It was clean, bright, airy. The people were friendly, happy. The line went fast. The service was excellent. I thought I was still at home dreaming. Cheers & Merry Christmas.

  • Mar says:

Just think of it as “gaining face” …

5 years ago, our 2 kids were in college but both still had our home as their official residence during breaks. In the last 5 years:

    1. daughter got married
    2. both kids finished college
    3. Dad survived cardiac arrest at age 85
    4. lost Dad December 07
    5. had first grandchild, a girl, August 08
    6. these facts don’t capture the deepening relationship with Christ a joy which has grown over the last 5 years as my dependence on Him as my only joy grows …

  • Kelley R. says:

In the last 5 years I…

    1. Graduated high school.

    3. Started college.
    4. Discovered my best friend.
    5. Had surgery.
    6. Started growing up.

    Among other things, I guess.
