MPT-hate to break it to you, but i think your 5 legged, TWO-eyed “spider” with EARS is actually an alien….just another perspective perhaps

  • .Bella. says:

I think it’s awesome that you’re not exposing him to television yet, but instead doing things like this. It’s such an awesome source of entertainment for little kids! LOL! I’m totally going to do this when my husband and I have kids.

  • Michael says:

I agree with Erin… seems like an alien to me. But you know, it can be whatever Elias wants it to be.

  • Wow. Maybe it is an alien. That might make sense!

    And explain the missing anatomy.

    Hmm…

  • Dale Best says:

While watching this, I got this strange picture in my head of you showing off these puppets similar to the way Carrot Top shows off his props. Wierd …

  • Michelle says:

That was very sweet! I also thought the “spider” looked more like an alien when I saw it.

  • FINE! It’s an alien. I’m an idiot, I get it.

    🙂

  • Chad Estes says:

Be sure to keep the puppets, friendly, MPT, or Elias could get scared like this little boy…

Love it! You are very entertaining 🙂

  • Jill says:

I thought your demonstration was very cute and entertaining.
but I can imagine what your friends , who don’t have kids, are thinking about you…
    😉

  • lara says:

i think your “spider” might be a crab.

  • I think it’s a monster. I’m not a parent yet, but I have a theory that it’s good for kids to have fun, colorful monsters as toys so they won’t be afraid of mysterious monsters in the closet and such. Our little unborn one’s name is Kate, and we call her Kate-monster (after the character in Avenue Q). And my husband does a really cute monster voice (Cookie Monster, basically.) Hopefully that will mitigate irrational fears. Or maybe it will just screw her up somehow… we’ll see.

  • Thanks for the inspiration! I was trying to figure out what in the world to buy for our 2 month-old little guy and I think a few puppets would be a great idea. He has an older sister so we have more toys than any child should ever be allowed to have, but no puppets! I like it!

Puppets are amazing! Just wait until Elias is old enough to manipulate the puppets himself…you and Jessica will learn a TON of things about your boy when he starts doing the voices, telling the stories, and letting his imagination (which you guys have so richly watered) POP with blossoms of creativity!

By the way, Target has some neat little finger puppets. Jessica might want to watch for them at the post-Christmas sales. (I love Target’s endcaps, too!)

Have fun playing with your baby. It is never wasted time…
