prunes!

By December 9, 2008Blog

My son hasn’t pooped in a week. So the pediatrician recommended we feed him some prunes. We weren’t excited about feeding him baby food just yet, but in the name of regularity, we did. And these pictures tell the story of what he thought about his first taste of prunes.

But seriously, do you blame him?
I’d never thought I’d ask this: But please pray the boy poops today!

Viagra is for the treatment of inability to get or keep an erection and similar states when erection is of low quality. Sexual health is an substantial part of a man’s life, no question his age etc.

    prayin for poop!

been there…the poop will come, i swear. also-there is a baby food that is prunes mixed with apples. my Tiny seemed to like that better than straight prunes. just a thought.

LOL…My daughter, born in mid-May was truly moved by them! Good luck!

  • I’ve read your blog for awhile, and never thought my first comment would be about poop.

But it is really horrible when a baby doesn’t poop for an extended period like that. My daughter is almost 4, and while there is a lot that becomes a big blur, I clearly remember how horrible it was when she couldn’t poop.

And when they do finally go, there is no diaper that can contain a weeks worth of poop.

It’s a victory, a messy one, but a victory none the less.

Good luck. I’m sure you and your wife are as distressed as he is.

  • I’m right there with you! Our little guy is only 2 months, but we have had a number of times where he wouldn’t poop for a few days. He would get so cranky and gassy from it. The thing that worked for us was doing a rectal thermometer (gets things moving really quickly…one time I didn’t even have a chance to get his diaper back on before he pooped). Also, putting a teaspoon of dark corn syrup in his bottle. I’ve since cut dairy out of my diet and now he doesn’t get constipated. Sucks for me, but good for him. Oh, and my husband and I talk about his poop all the time. I examine it and obsess over how long it has been since his last poop. Funny things we parents do!

I know you’ve probably tried this already but try rubbing/massaging his belly … if that doesn’t work, do the same thing under some warm water.

    Works for Caedmon…

    I hate prunes.

That first picture is priceless. Hehehe – I’m SO glad to be done with those days.

I used to make my own baby food and that seemed to help them stay regular. Not to mention being so much cheaper than buying all those little jars! :oD I figured out it cost me about 25 cents a day for the baby food, so that was really nice.
