When I was in seventh grade, there were two kinds of people at my school: those who had a jean jacket and those who didn’t. Otherwise known as the cool and the not-so cool. I was in the latter of those two groups until I was in the ninth grade.
Back then, my mother told me jean jackets were useless and expensive… And when I finally got mine, while they were still useless and expensive, they were uncool too. But that didn’t keep me from thinking I was cool. Why? Because there’s something about wearing denim not as pants that makes one feel cool.
Elias’s Nana bought him his first jean jacket before he was even born. Lucky guy. Below are some pictures I took of him.

Yes! I felt pretty stylish when I wore my jean jacket. As a girl – you could also have a matching jean skirt… that was a pretty cool outfit.

I also got my first jean jacket when they were no longer cool. It was lined with red plaid, and I felt silly wearing it.
I think they became uncool because I got one. I don’t remember how old i was, but I know I’m the kiss of death for styles. I just got a pair of pumas, so I’m sure that train’s gonna derail.
I never liked wearing them to be honest – especially if it rained when you were wearing it.

oooo i didn’t see the thumbs up! he’s fonzie 2008! and makes jean jackets cool again. when you’re little, everything is cool and in style. it’s when we’re older and grow the mullet along with it, that things start to go bad.

He’s such a cutie! I just felt the need to brag–I got my first jean jacket for exactly $3.59 on a Target clearance rack! It has finicky pockets, though, that consistently break my “denim should never need to be ironed” rule, so don’t feel too bad.
I was an adult woman saaaaad to say. Girls did not wear denim.. add to that I was a fat girl.. fat girls definitely did not wear denim… I think I was 22 or 23.. they were definitely not cool anymore.. and I’ve never remotely felt cool so even the jacket couldn’t help :O)

I had one in middle school and I also had the pins….all over the thing! Lots and lots of pins. Then I got the awesome jean purse and had pins all over that,too. What were we thinking? Seriously.
