sat in a seminar with Joel Houston a few weeks ago and he said that because of Brooke Fraser’s commitment to schedule her solo career around her church commitments, her label basically dropped the ball on pushing her album in the U.S.
i thought that was pretty cool and convicting. I can think of 100 reasons I could have come up with if I was her, about how getting my art into a big market like the U.S. would be good for the kingdom and yada yada. But she wanted to stay involved and serve at her local church and she stuck by her commitment. So yeah, I thought that was kinda cool.
(and that’s why you might not hear this song on christian radio…if anyone out there still listens to christian radio, that is)
I love Brooke Fraswer – and I absolutely agree that the song is breathtaking. Being a NZer myself it’s nice to see New Zealand music making it’s way in the world.
