sunshine and nectarines…

By August 9, 2008Blog

First, let me talk about the weather. Wow. It’s like 80 degrees in Nashville with only a little humidity. So yeah, heavenly. Last August Nashville had like 30 days right in a row where it was 100 degrees or more. And the humidity was just awful.

Anyway, all that to say: It’s very pretty outside. Sort makes me wish I had a yard to mow or an orchard to prune. When I was little, I hated helping my father with our small orchard of fruit trees. But that was because all he ever let me do was go around and pick up the branches and twigs that he cut. If I’d been given any control over what was/wasn’t cut, I might have enjoyed it more.

On second thought, if I’m completely honest, I probably would have just cut them down or let them grow. I was sort of a lazy kid.

But now, I miss the fruit trees. Especially our nectarine tree. Few things are better than a ripe nectarine.

OK, I’m officially sounding old. I’ve mentioned pruning and nectarines. Please, somebody shoot me if I start referring to 1991 as the good ole days.

Wow. What is happening to this post?

Elias slept through the night all week long. Jessica and I are shocked by that. We’ve heard so many horror stories about being up all night long with babies that we expected to need heroin to survive our first few weeks of parenting. Of course, we know it could change at any time, but until that happens, I’ve decided to just enjoy it!

I’m currently reading a hilarious book called Waiter Rant. If you don’t mind an “edgy” read, it’s a hysterical account of one man’s experiences working as a server. The guy who wrote it also has a rather extensive blog. If you’ve ever waited tables, you will find this book rather humorous and perhaps therapeutic.

Happy Saturday!

Viagra is for the treatment of inability to get or keep an erection and similar states when erection is of low quality. When you buy remedies like cialis from canada you should know about cialis online canada. It may have a lot of brands, but only one ATC Code. Erectile dysfunction, defined as the persistent impossibility to maintain a satisfactory erection, affects an estimated 15 to 30 millions men in the America alone. Sexual health is an substantial part of a man’s life, no matter his age etc.

You are welcome to come over and mow my lawn….or build my shed…I’m feeling lazy today.

I’m so glad you all didn’t need the heroin… I hear it can mess with breast milk.

    (don’t freak out, people… it’s sarcasm…)

  • WOW you are very blessed that Elias is sleeping through the night! Our little girl will be 10 months on Monday and STILL isn’t sleeping through the night!! It’s to the point now I am starting to try to teach her how to soothe herself back to sleep – not easy to let your lil one cry. It’s been rough on this 1st time mama — I NEED sleep. Our lil one is a handful. She may be our only at this rate. LOL!! Enjoy every second with your lil guy! He’s VERY CUTE!!

Yes, you’re very blessed that he sleeps. My first did NOT sleep. She’d cry… for like three hours straight. I’d be yelling at the husband, he’d be staring, and then we’d all start hyperventilating… not pretty! She ended up sleeping in our bed, between us, for a YEAR!

My second was a dream. Seriously. She slept through the night as a newborn!!! In her OWN bed!!!

My Mother’s best advice: Never Wake a Sleeping Baby.

Both of our kids slept through the night beginning at around 5-6 weeks, and boy but does it make all the difference in the world. I’m thinking that our little number three might be the hellcat who stays up to party all night, but we’ll see.

At any rate, ENJOY it, although if he’s sleeping through now I’d venture to guess that he’s going to continue. Until you hit teething of course. 😉

The weather up here in the north east has also been divine, for one day in a row. It’s reminding me of early fall and that is my FAVORITE weather.

Hey, I CAN’T WAIT for you to blog about Victoria Osteen’s lawsuit — and the crazy flight attendant who says that she “suffered from anxiety and hemorroids” from Mrs. Joel elbowing her in the breast. It’s shocking that our tax dollars have to pay for this crap to even take place and make it to court! The material here is really endless…lol!
