  • This is some interesting thing Florida is looking at.

We have been having the same discussion over on another blog about the plate, see it here

Not sure I am all for it myself.

You gotta be kidding me… you would think Jeb Bush is still governor or something. hah.

People can put any bumper sticker they want on their personal property, right? I constantly see silhouettes of slender, perky-breasted women and pissing lads plastered on back windows of vehicles. So, if people want to adorn their tags with some belief or organization of interest, I don’t really care. If that $25 going into the coffers of the State of Florida helps to reduce the likelihood that toll fees will be raised yet again, great!

I don’t think it’s a significant separation of church and state issue, but it might lead down some slippery slopes later on. If approved, it certainly will liven things up around here when the atheists and Wiccans and polygamists and Satanists want their own beliefs plastered on the plates. Then what will the fundies have to say? Free speech–but NOT for all, I’d bet.

Christians these days seem cursed with this need to “announce” themselves with T-shirts and jewelry and fish symbols and wall plaques and coffee mugs. I find it all rather strange, funny, and pathetic all at the same time.
