It’s no secret that I am a fan of Amy Grant. It’s been that way for quite some time. To be honest, I almost got kicked out of college because of Amy (I talked to her at a music business event and music business students weren’t allowed to talk to artists—but I did it anyway). OK, so yeah, I’m willing to risk my education for Amy Grant.
Well, she released her first book this week—a collection of stories and essays called Mosaic. I got a pre-release of it earlier this month. It’s good. Her voice really shines through. That’s what I love the most about this title. If you’re a fan of Amy, it will feel like she’s talking to you. I kind of like books like that, where you can hear the person talking.
The book has one flaw: I could have done without the song lyrics and the poems. Any true fan has Amy’s lyrics memorized, and the poetry just isn’t that good.
But the stories are worth it. The stories she share are fantastic. You will love Amy even more after reading Mosaic.
