a few years ago during a youth retreat we gave four groups a differnet song to do a tableau to. The group which got this Lifehouse song did something eerily similar though they didn’t have Jesus frantically trying to get the person attention. Sometime God uses the hokey (and hopefully the hokey pokey). peace
Is the evil fashion model the reason jesus is wearing a satin nighty? And yeah nothing makes Jesus look mor like a pansy than dancing around to get attention and pulling air ropes while she is fighting through a crowd of “evil”; except perhaps dancing around to get attention and pulling air ropes in a satin nighty.
I think its a good portrayal for youth about the kinds of things that could distract us from God, but how He longs for our attention. I can see now watching it again how this could come off as cheesy, but this is what happens with youth how one thing distracts them from God and it begins a spiral downward in their lives, but that God has the redemptive power in our lives. He alone has the power to free us from our sins and the thoughts that attack us. I know that freeing power. Matt, I read your book Mind Games and it helped me with that. And to the person who doesnt like Youth conferences thats where I gave my life to Christ. I think God works through them, uses them to reach kids and whether you think they were effective or not in my life they were and I am now a devoted follower of Christ because of the work God did through it.
I’m not much for mime dancing, whatever, u call it, but I’m reminded of Napolean Dynamites signage. Is that a real gun? Sometimes a good song just needs to be sung.

How about Life’s Dance -since both the enmey and Jesus are making the kids dance a certain way- I like the video!

i also liked it, but i don’t have any real reason for why i do. however, i think youth retreats/conferences are silly.
