(I have always been driven to work OUTSIDE of the church building. That is why I worked with Youth for Christ in my twenties. I got to work in the neighborhoods and schools, even with referrals from govt agencies, helping reach unchurched, at risk kids and meet their social, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs. I am just a para-church kinda girl. BUT really, should there be such a word???)
This video, like most things the United Methodist Church does, leaves me feeling lukewarm. While I love the ideas they are espousing on here, I find it troubling that there is no mention of name Jesus Christ ever. There’s a brief glimpse of the word “god” and “pray”, but the talk is superficial in terms of saying faith.
If there isn’t even a hint of evangelism in this video, it might as well belong to some other moral social justice organization. The beauty and radicalness (is that a word?) of Christianity is that Christ wants us to serve people on spiritual and physical levels. We love because we were first loved, and I don’t see mention of that in this PR campaign.
YEAH BABY!!! This gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes.
…I need to make some changes too.
Powerful! Have you read The Hole In Our Gospel? Same message…
I like that, now let’s get to it.
beautiful. i’m ready.
Awesome! That’s a “church” worth joinging! :o) MPT, I think it’s safe to say we ALL have room to make a few changes.
AMEN to that!!!!
Exactly how I feel.
