Rumor has it that the above cardboard cutout, a lovely life-sized replica of Mark Driscoll side-hugging John MacArthur (with John caressing Mark’s new book), was on display at Driscoll’s Resurgence Conference.

As you can see, the promotional item was a gimmick created by X3Watch, one of the sponsors of Mark’s event. X3Watch’s plan was to offer conference attendees free t-shirts featuring a screen-printed image of them standing next to the cardboard cutout.
However, that didn’t happen.
Within minutes of the Mark-and-John Hug going on display, Mark Driscoll’s security squad (a group of highly trained Mark admirers, skilled at church militia) spotted the man-made standalone, surrounded the X3Watch booth, and proceeded to confiscate Cardboard Mark and Cardboard John out from the public’s eye.
Rumor has it Mark’s Resurgence Brigade eventually returned the display, but not before trying to buy it from X3Watch…
