On Thursday the 14th I leave for Uganda. Flying through Detroit on Northwest/KLM and then on to Denmark (yes, I’m pretty sure my return flight is the same one in which the latest terror scare occurred). From Denmark, we will fly into Entebbe, Uganda.
To those of you who read my blog on a regular basis, would you please pray for me in regards to this trip? Here are a few things you can be talking to God about on my behalf.
- That I will embrace humility
- That I will honor and respect the culture and customs of Uganda
- That I will share/blog a truthful story about what I encounter
- That I will resist the urge to assume
- That Jessica and Elias will remain safe, healthy, and comforted in my absence
- That I will remain healthy
- That God will use my talent to bring hope/support to the children of Uganda
- That the stories of the people I meet in Uganda will change/shape me
- That I will allow these words of Jesus from Luke 4:18 to lead my journey: “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed.”
- That many Ugandan children will become sponsored and bring hope into the lives of the individuals and families who sponsor them
Uganda Week at my blog will begin on January 17! Stay tuned.
