How about “Working for a Living” as the caption?
Absolutely creepy, that’s what it is
Trompe-l’œil
nice CREEPY post right before bedtime, yo. i’ll be sure to thank you for my nightmares in the morning.
seriously?!…I think this picture is great!! This type of genre is not easy to do. Dude, I’m with you on, like, 99 percent of the pictures you found and post. But this one is pretty sweet. It’s like a mix of Dali, Bosch (think that’s how it’s spelled), and various paintings from the Byzantine era. I like it.
when the body tries to be the head it always gets ugly
how about “all kinds of awesome!”
@Lauree LOL.
I actually hate all pictures of Jesus. Doesn’t it kind of go back to that whole “no graven images” thing?

Where do you find these?
Cross-eyed Jesus…
I’m not really sure what the artist was trying to say with this one.
“Jigsaw Jesus”???
Kinda looks like him (the doll on the “Saw” movies) if you just glance at it really quick.
Yes, this is by far the most creepy picture of Jesus I have ever seen. I understand that this type of picture is probably very difficult to achieve, and I’m sure the concept was brilliant. The execution, not so much.
Speaking of which…it looks like a beheaded Jesus, decomposing. Sorry. Gross, I know. I’ve watched way too many medical, csi, etc…kinda shows.
Caption: “When the hell is that bomber gonna get over here and put us all out of our misery?!”
Question…why is there a 747 flying in the sky to the left of his head?
I totally get it. The artist is using the style of iconography that is found in the Coptic Church where, to western eyes, figures look rounded and almost cartoonish at times. And is making a (I hope disapproving) caricature of the way that Jews who were not followers of Jesus were portrayed in some Medieval artworks… Or perhaps they might be demonic? Also the artist displays the legend of Veronica and the action of Simon helping to carry the cross. Finally I think the artist intends to echo the strange shapes we see in the sky background in several famous religious paintings that UFO fans try to tell us is witness of extraterrestrial flight in history when the artist paints a dark figure in the clouds that looks suspiciously like a jet.
Jesus needs new PR, so why are you spending your time focusing on the wrong kind of PR he gets and has gotten?
Curious.
Hieronymus Bosch’s Sunday School artwork. I saw it on his mom’s fridge.
To me it looks like Jesus is bearing weight of sinners, and these are the people that are the body of Christ.
The cross through the bridge of the nose may start a new trend.
Good look.
When I see devotional paintings like this I thank God I’m and atheist. 😉
Wow. I mean, I’m surprised I’m not seeing that at my local Christian bookstore, it’s THAT fab.
*eyes bugging out*
Pictures of Jesus have nothing to do with the “graven images” commandment. Those had to do with the the Father portion of the Trinity. Jesus has an image and can be portrayed in art. In the same way the Holy Spirit had an image, like a dove. The Father has none because he is outside of images.
This is actually kind of cool…
