quote of the day

By September 2, 2009Blog

“I feel absolutely committed to the cause, to what God wanted me to do with my life,” he said in an interview. “I have got this blessing of being engaged in a fight for liberty, which is constantly being threatened.” –South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford

“Fight for liberty”… Is that code for “hot sex in Argentina”?

Me confused.

I have nothing to say with reguard to Sanford’s sex life. Frankly, I don’t care. But I must comment on the color/condition of his leathery skin. Um, gross. That’s all.

  • Danny Bixby says:

I’m pretty sure that IS code for “hot sex in Argentina.”

You don’t sound confused, I think you’ve nailed it.

The happy truth is that before the sex scandal, Gov. Sanford did more to advance the cause of Liberty than any other modern politician I can presently recall.

The sad truth is that you are ignorantly conflating a sex scandal with the distinguished career of a a much beloved politician.

How about a little research in the future?…sound good?

  • @drredhead:

Happy truth: Your comment is funnier than my joke.

    Sad truth: You weren’t joking.

    *sigh

  • Jessica says:

That’s hysterical…even if you didn’t research his political prowess!!

Isn’t it amusing how politicians political “achievements” somehow trump their sexual “rompings”… like that makes their infidelity somehow less demeaning for his wife, children and oh…whole state.

Thanks for the laugh…and that other dude too.

Me confused as well when you consider that he has suggested Democrats step down who were in the same predicament as him.

I think all of us have the proclivity to “talk big and act small.” One indication that a person is worthy of my respect as a spiritual elder or sage is when he or she “talks small and acts big.”

If you don’t go around boasting about your abilities and your blessings and your ministries or offices, sometimes God lets you borrow them a little longer (adulterous hot sex in Argentina not included).

It may just as well be a code for obsessive tooth whitening. (Look at those things.)

Because when you let your smile go, the terrorists win.
