Hi Matt, I’m a faithful reader of Angie’s blog, and when I saw she had posted that you guys were at the hospital, I went to Jess’ blog and saw you saying the updates would mostly be here. I just watched all of your vids.

I’m praying for Jessica, for her to get some progress, for her headache to completely go away, and most of all, for baby Elias to come already!

Can’t wait for the news in the morning. 🙂

Dude… I so want to come and bring you all donuts and coffee right now. Because at 1:45 in the morning the only thing I can think to sustain you is caffine and sugar.

Or Elias. THAT would sustain you. But he seems to be missing the party! Maybe this means he’ll be a laid-back boy and sleep through the night right away since he’s so laid back about being born.

You both are amazing, and please tell Jessica we all think she is super-human. And I am so grateful the woman had the strength to do what is best for her and say yes to the epidural. I don’t know you people from Adam but I am so freaking proud of all of you.

I’ll check in the morning for wonderful news! (but I’m guessing it will be closer to noon since I’m up so late!)

Blessings to you all, stranger-friends. I’ll say prayers in my sleep.

  • Hey guys! It’s Kelly from your birth class. I’ve been following your birthing process since yesterday. I want to praise Jessica for her decision to give her body and mind a rest w/ an epi. I, too, made that choice after laboring 15 hours at home only to find out that I wasn’t dilating b/c of previous surgeries and scar tissue. I was disappointed at first, but I’m up at 1:45 to nurse my sweet baby daughter just the same. Once he’s here, you will realize that it’s all worth it, no matter the route taken. Best of luck. I’ll keep you in my thoughts.

PS Try the beef broth. I was repulsed by the idea, but when I finally tried it, it was the best thing that I ever put in my mouth. (I was starving too!)

Jessica you are amazing!!!!!!!!!! I would of have had my epidural many, many, many hours ago… 🙂 I don’t like pain… 🙂 Hang in there just a little bet longer, and then it will all be worth it! Matthew, you are soooo funny and silly….. 🙂 No wonder Angie is laughing so hard in the background…. Is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO nice to see her laugh… even if is just a little bet, she’s fortunate to have good friends like you and Jessica. Anyways, just letting you know that we are still praying for you guys from across the country in CA, and you are in our thoughts. We’ll check in the morning and hope that Elias decides to join us all outside of his mommy 🙂
    God Bless
    Judy 🙂

You guys are awesome I am a regular reader of Angie’s and I had to come check out your baby news! So sorry that it has been such a long ordeal! Your wife must be amazing because with all three of my kids, there was NO QUESTION that I was going to get every available drug to conceal the pain! I’m wide awake here in Guam so I’ll be thinking about you and praying for you while everyone else sleeps! Best wishes and God Bless!!

It’s 5 AM Eastern time and I was hoping to log on and see a baby. Hopefully he is here and you haven’t been able to do an update yet. I’m glad Jessica was able to get some rest after the epidural. She has amazing endurance!
